Using an angled squat platform isn’t cheating. Using an angled squat platform isn’t cheating.

A slant board or angled squat wedge isn’t a shortcut — it’s a tool.

For people with limited ankle mobility, long femurs, or stiff calves, an angled platform can help you:
• Maintain a more upright torso
• Access comfortable, controlled squat depth
• Reduce compensation through the knees + lower back
• Keep pressure balanced through the mid-foot
• Better target the quads while reinforcing clean mechanics

The angle simply reduces the ankle dorsiflexion demand — allowing you to squat with better alignment today, while you continue to build mobility + strength over time.

Tools don’t replace good training.

💪🏼 THESE ARMS! 

Growing up a swimmer, I had muscles before most of the lil boys did. I guess that made them uncomfortable. Some of my clearest memories were being told I looked like a man + other not nice lesbian slurs kids had obviously heard from bigoted parents. Boo!

I would have done anything to be skinny like all the other girls. For too many years, I starved myself in attempt to lose that muscle. Heads up: as a Mesomorph, that doesn’t work! You’re still gonna be thick, kiddo! Just softer. 

Flash forward…I got smart! Knowledge pulled me out of destructive disordered eating + hours of cardio. I learned how to train to maintain a sculpted muscular physique that I think is still incredibly feminine. 

It’s funny, as I’ve evolved, the arms I used to hide sweltering in a jacket on 95 degree summer days have become a body part I’m known for + that I am personally proud to have built. Now, it’s a running joke…does Whitney have any shirts with sleeves? 

Answer: Unless they’re long-sleeved winter wear essential for warmth, NO! 

❤️ I post this today, as a client recently told me I had “the best arms she’d ever seen on a woman,” then corrected herself, “on anyone!” I’m flattered beyond words @sambesser! 

HERE’S WHAT SUCKS: Ask a guy what does strong look like + he’ll lift one or both arms up + flex his muscles whether he has any or not! Ask a woman + many will say oh, please don’t make me flex! 

Can we please change that? 

I beg you in wake of this Ozempic-thin epidemic, which I admit, as a recovered anorexic has been incredibly triggering, can we please celebrate healthy, strong bodies for women? Can women please start taking up more space vs tirelessly pursuing less? Stop worrying about making some idiotic skinny man who’s never seen the inside of a gym feel less masculine. 

The long-term health effects of chasing skinny are hugely detrimental. Instead, please CHOOSE STRONG! It’s incredibly liberating!
