Nobody loves Trader Joe’s as much as Byron and I do! However, putting the word out regarding local e-Coli outbreak stemming from TJ’s pre made salads and wraps. Athertone Foods Inc. distributed the products to Trader Joe’s, Walgreens and Whole Foods in eight states including California, Arizona and New Mexico.

This one hits close to home: the Mexicali Chicken Salad is a time crunch meal starter – I add more chicken breast and 2 cups cabbage.  Had it last week  (and was fine), but a client who ate the Southwestern Salad 2 days ago was just diagnosed with E Coli poisoning today.

While the foods in question were made between Sept. 23 and Nov. 6. Best-by expiration dates are from Sept. 23 to Nov. 14, and different news sources are naming different salads/wraps as the potentially affected ones, I highly recommend you:

TAKE ANY RECENTLY PURCHASED TRADER JOE’S SALADS OR WRAPS BACK TO STORE. Don’t toss. Exchange for something clean. TJ’s is consistently amazing with returns/exchanges – even without receipt.

STAY HEALTHY, Y’ALL!
